Head Teacher
Terese Bradshaw is the founder and directress of Montessori for Toddlers. Terese holds a B. A. in Early Childhood Education from San Francisco State University and received her Montessori Teaching Credential from Pacific Coast Montessori School. Terese started her own Family Day Care for Toddlers in 1982 and established Montessori for Toddlers in 1989. Terese holds a Child Development Site Supervisor Permit from the California State Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
She is the mother of four adult daughters. Terese is fluent in sign language (signing exact English) with toddlers and incorporates sign language into the songs and finger plays of the program.
"My daughter has been going to Montessori for Toddlers with Terese Bradshaw since August 2006 and we love it! Terese is truly an expert in the field of education. In my search, I visited many great preschools and not one matched the quality of this program.
I have seen so much growth in my daughter's social awareness and she is excelling in life skills development, as well. One example that comes to mind is how Kylie will look at a person's face and describe how he/she is feeling. She is developing empathy and awareness of others. She is also excited to peel a tangerine or a hard boiled egg all by herself and then share it with her friends. In Terese's program, Kylie has learned that she is capable and successful as a student. As an elementary school teacher, I know that this is the single most important lesson that one can learn to ensure school success. Terese is in the business of creating life long learners. "

Mary Leet Dalton is a dedicated Novato mother of three school-age children. As a stay-at-home mom, Mary was a frequent volunteer at St. Francis Preschool, Rancho Elementary School, and a Novato Youth soccer coach for children 4-6 years of age. She is also a teacher in St. Anthony's catechism program.
"My son attended Terese's Montessori for Toddlers program for two years. I could not possibly say enough good things about this program.
I always felt that my son was in a supportive, loving, safe and educational environment. I saw him grow from a very tentative, shy 18 month-old to a confident (and still sweet!) 3 year old. We modeled a lot of our parenting after Terese's approach to talking to toddlers. I know that my son was greatly influenced by Terese's calm, thoughtful and fun manner and that his time with Terese has prepared him for success in school with his teachers and peers. I truly feel that one
of the best things I did as a parent was find this program for my son." Laila McClay

The learning experience should occur naturally and joyfully at the proper moment for each child. "It is true, we cannot make a genius," Dr. Maria Montessori once wrote, "we can give each individual child the chance to fulfill his potential possibilities to become an independent, secure and balanced human being."
